"LIFE" with an Early Generation Bengal
by Kathy McCarthy, owner of TaBoo ZaRu
TaBoo ZaRu Tranquil....Serene....Content....Calm....oh, did I mention these are the afternoon hours while he's sleeping?ROBUST....VIBRANT....ENERGETIC....DYNAMIC....BRILLIANT....CLEVER and LOVING....This is my LIFE with an early generation Bengal.
I knew nothing about the Bengal Breed. I just knew I wanted that "LOOK". I met with Rosi Carroll at her house and was fully informed with knowledge of this Breed. I even got the rare opportunity to meet Zarha, her F1 and said "I want one just like that". With Rosi's recommendations and kind words about Sandra Roan who had an F1 available; I was able to purchase Zarha's half brother. Zarha and TaBoo have the same father; "ZaRu", now owned by Mike and Marie Bloodgood.
TaBoo ZaRu I can still remember the day I went to the airport to pick TaBoo up. He was the only animal due to arrive on that flight and I went to the area where he would be. The door opened and a carrier was on the ground; I called TaBoo and a loud long cry came from the carrier; then a head rubbed across the front of the carrier, and I got my first eye contact with him and I cried too. It was an instant bond from that point on.
I have never LOVED an animal past or present as much as I do Him. He has filled my daily life with overwhelming HAPPINESS; words can't describe, He knows my moods as I do his. We talk all the time; you forget he's an animal because he responds to your questions. He is so intelligent; I was able to teach him hand commands; to come, stay and go. He plays Peek a Boo; fetch, turns lights on and off, loves the shower and waddles in the tub...and just loves to hang on my shoulder while I pat his bottom, and he'd stay there for hours if I'd let him. The most unique trick he does each and every day will amaze people who don't realize how smart these cats are. I come into the room after my shower and he runs to my bathroom cabinet to pull open the draw with my hairdryer in it. He hasn't missed a day in over a year now. I still laugh and give him kisses for a job well done. He loves to please!
TaBoo ZaRu My F1 is nothing like I expected. I was told they could be unpredictable, have bad habits of peeing in their water bowl, or pooping in areas other than their litter boxes, spraying, even though he's fixed. I WAS BLESSED WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY F1; I feel I owe all the credit to Sandra Roan and others like her a "HEARTFELT THANK YOU'. If these F1's weren't given the love and attention from their original owners; then these magnificent animals wouldn't make the wonderful companions that they are for the new owners. "THANK YOU ALL".
